Caring for Yourself

Pausing to reflect on when and how you take care of yourself creates physical and emotional stability: the foundation of discipline.

Self-care doesn’t need to be complicated. Here are two simple exercises:

Exercise 1 (easy and quick):

Sitting or stand in a comfortable posture, breathe slowly in and out as you say: “When I care for myself, I gain strength and confidence.”

 Exercise 2:

An important part of self-care is the ability to appreciate your own strength and efforts.

List three attributes you appreciate about yourself, followed by an example of how you have displayed each one. (For instance, if you list Patience as an attribute, your example might be: “When I missed the left-turn signal today, I wanted to scream. Instead, I paused, settled back into the bucket seat, noticed how it felt, breathed slowly and released my tension.”
